Lidia leads Pfizer’s enterprise-wide digital, AI and technology strategy, products and solutions, a role pivotal to fulfilling our purpose: Breakthroughs that Change Patients’ Lives. She also leads Learning and Development and Business Process Excellence.
Lidia is a visionary leader with a passion for disruptive innovation to improve peoples’ health and drive business growth. She is customer centric, develops talent and has a bias toward action. She spearheads our efforts to improve patient health outcomes through innovative digital products and pioneering novel healthcare delivery models.
Harnessing the power of AI and technology, Lidia innovates across every aspect of the business from how we discover and develop medicines, to manufacturing, commercialization and how we engage with patients, physicians, and health systems. Her team applies AI, including Generative AI, which is anticipated to deliver $4B in value for Pfizer.
Lidia led the Digital team in Pfizer’s critical efforts to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccine, Cominarty, the oral treatment, Paxlovid, in record time, driving innovations across research, clinical trials, manufacturing, distribution and patient engagement. The recently launched consumer-friendly digital platform, PfizerForAll, allows Americans to easily schedule vaccine appointments and seek care for illnesses like migraine, COVID-19, RSV and the flu, including end-to-end services and support all in one place, to quickly get on the path to wellness. Under her leadership, Pfizer automated over 90% of 100 million transactions across the company and launched Pfizer Learning Academy to provide learning, training, and development for all employees.
Lidia has 25+ years of experience in the healthcare industry. In her prior role, Lidia was Senior VP and CIO at Quest Diagnostics, the world’s leading provider of diagnostic information services serving one in three American adults each year, and half the physicians and hospitals in the U.S. She was responsible for technology, informatics and digital solutions. She led the effort to create Quest's innovative Quanum™ brand of healthcare IT, consumer and data analytics offerings that deliver critical insights that improve quality outcomes and patient care while lowering costs.
In 2024, under Lidia’s leadership, Pfizer was one of four Drug and Biotechnology companies recognized in Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s Best Employers for Tech Workers. Lidia has received numerous awards and accolades, including the 2023 National CIO of the Year ORBIE Award and the 2022 New York CIO of the Year ORBIE Award. She was named on the 2022 Forbes CEO Next List recognizing top 50 executives who are likely to lead America’s top companies and the 2022 Forbes CIO Next List recognizing the top 50 tech leaders who are redefining the CIO role and driving game-changing innovation. She was named on the list of the 50 Most Powerful Latinas in 2020, 2021, and 2022 by the Association of Latino Professionals for America. In 2022, Pfizer won multiple awards in digital manufacturing including Gartner’s Supply Chain Breakthrough of the Year Award.
Lidia is a member of the Board of Directors of Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) and the U.S.-Japan Business Council. She was previously a member of the Board of Directors at Tegna, Inc. (NYSE: TGNA) from 2018 – 2023, Gannet, Inc. (NYSE: GCI) from 2014-2017 and Q2 Solutions, a joint venture between Quest Diagnostics and IQVIA, from 2016 to 2018.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA and a Master Business Informatics (MBI) from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business. Lidia is married and has two children.
