Andrew Baum, BM ChB, is Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and Executive Vice President at Pfizer Inc. Dr. Baum is a member of Pfizer's Executive Leadership Team (ELT). He is a former surgeon with 30 years of deep clinical and scientific experience and proven leadership in financial services and the biopharmaceutical sector.

At Pfizer, Dr. Baum is instrumental in driving the company's long-term corporate strategic plan to maximize value for patients and shareholders. He oversees portfolio analysis and prioritization, business development activities, strengthening partnerships within the biotech ecosystem, and the commercial evaluation of Pfizer's research pipeline. Additionally, he chairs Pfizer's Portfolio Management Team which guides the company in bringing forward innovative vaccines and medicines with the greatest potential to address unmet patient needs.

Prior to joining Pfizer, he played a pivotal role in shaping the healthcare strategy at Citi where he was Head of Global Healthcare and Managing Director Equity Research. Previously, he spent 14 years covering European Pharmaceuticals at Morgan Stanley. He also has a background as a practicing physician at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London and previously, the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he completed his residency.

Dr. Baum holds a Master of Arts degree in Physiological Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BM ChB) degree from Oxford University. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr. Baum has strong background in oncology. He has served as the co-chair of Immuno-Oncology 360° (IO360°) and, in 2011, he was the first analyst to report on the transformative opportunity of cancer immunotherapy.
