The Data Science Industrialization team within Data Science Solutions and Initiatives is a critical driver and enabler of Pfizer’s digital transformation, leading the process and engineering innovation to rapidly progress early AI and data science applications from prototypes and MVPs to full production.
As a Manager, AI and Data Science Frontend Engineer, you will be part of the Data Science Industrialization team charged with designing and using UI/UX principles, developing and continuously improving web application frontends, particularly those focused on AI use cases. You will contribute to the best practices and maintain standards for frontend application development.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecting Solutions: You will contribute in the design and architecture of frontend applications, ensuring they align with business goals and technical requirements.
Web Development: Create responsive and visually appealing web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
JavaScript Webapp Frameworks: Proficiency in both React and Vue or AngularJS is essential. You’ll leverage these frameworks to build dynamic and interactive user interfaces.
API Integration: Work closely with backend teams to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between frontend and backend components.
Testing and Optimization: Implement unit tests, end-to-end tests, and performance optimizations to enhance application reliability and speed.
User-Centric Approach: Understand user needs and translate them into intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing designs.
Mentoring and Guidance: Provide guidance to junior frontend developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Technical Excellence: Enforce coding standards, best practices, and thorough testing (unit, integration, etc.) to ensure reliability and maintainability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or engineering related area.
5+ years of work experience as a frontend developer, with a track record of leading successful projects and software that is deployed as building and deploying Web Applications.
Experience developing dynamic and interactive web applications; familiar with React, AngularJS, Vue.
Experience in creating responsive user interfaces; familiar with technologies such as HTML, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, Material, Vuetify .
Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Understanding of digital accessibility and disability inclusion. Experience developing digital products that comply with accessibility standards.
Hands on experience working in Agile teams, processes, and practices.
Highly self-motivated to deliver both independently and with strong team collaboration
Ability to creatively take on new challenges and work outside comfort zone
Strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
Experience in UI/UX design
Experience working in a cloud-based ecosystems (AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
Pharma & Life Science commercial functional knowledge
Pharma & Life Science commercial data literacy
Ability to work non-traditional work hours interacting with global teams spanning across the different regions (eg: North America, Europe, Asia)
